John (Big John #62) Myrick X Fire Paintball’s General Manager
John has been with X Fire since it started in 1998 and has been playing paintball since 1989. Prior to that he served in the US Navy as a welder and firefighter aboard the USS Ogden LPD-5 and traveled all over Southeast Asia.
His first team was the Pac Rats followed by the Wild Cards then the Express.
Honors as a player include:
In 1996 he was with the Wild Cards when it won TBONE (The Best Of New England) and the NEPL (New England Paintball League) Championship.
In 1997 with The Express he repeated the TBONE and NEPL Championship.
In 2002 with Team X Fire he took the TBONE again and came in 2 nd overall for the NEPL season.
Honors as a player/coach:
In 2004 with Team X Fire in the NEPL he took the NEPL Championship in the 7-man and took the 5-man P&L Season Championship. He took X Fire to third place in the Severe Open in Syracuse, NY.
In 2004 John undertook the responsibility to organize 6 teams sponsored by X Fire Paintball. Two teams were at the Rookie level, two competed at the Novice level and two at the intermediate/open level. Open tryouts were held early in 2004, most of those who tried out had no tournament experience, from these players teams were selected, practices were held and the teams competed throughout 2004. The results were great. In addition to the overall First Place finish in the NEPL and the P&L, the X Fire teams also took third place overall in the P&L, First Place at Camelot Paintball’s summer tournament, Second place at Friendly Fire’s May Rookie Tournament, Overall 4 th place in Friendly Fire’s Novice Tournament Series and overall 6 th and 7 th in the P&L Novice Division. All this came from teams in their first year of competition.

Equipment:
John has used all sorts of equipment over his career. Currently he is shooting a 2003 Shocker, a DYE DM4, a 2K2 Intimidator all of them with all the goodies!!! Of course he uses nitro and he feeds his monsters with his Empire Halo or his Ricochet Apache.

John lives in Dudley, Mass with his wife Debbie and his cats. When he is not paintballing you can find him snowmobiling in the northern reaches of Maine. |
